The award winning composite of concrete and glass is currently the world´s only non-combustible light reflecting material. BlingCrete™ is a novel textile reinforced concrete (TRC) with a light-reflecting (retro-reflecting) surface whose specific properties and smart manufacturing processes offer a wide variety of applications.
As a TRC, it is environmentally friendly, durable, and sustainable. The manufacturing process is based on system precast building methods and the novel Vacuformwork technology, that has been developed by Kennwert and is applied for patent. The BlingCrete™ technology is easily adapted to the set-up of existing production lines. The combination of a durable surface effect and the ease of production make BlingCrete™ a costeffective product.
BlingCrete™ has a long lifecycle while other light reflecting materials (thermo plastic, or paints) have to be renewed within a short interval of time, or can hardly be used at all, e.g. in tunnelling and underground spaces (due to fire regulations).
BlingCrete™ has been awarded several times. Amongst others, it is the winner of the 2014 NCE International Tunneling and Underground Space Award and the 2012 iF materials gold award.
